Adobe has expanded the generative AI capabilities in its Acrobat platform, enabling users to transform ordinary documents into dynamic presentations and audio podcasts with minimal effort. These new tools are part of a broader set of updates that enhance how Acrobat users consume, create, and collaborate with PDF content and multiple files collected in shared workspaces.

At the core of this update is PDF Spaces, a collaborative AI workspace where users can upload up to 100 documents, notes, recordings, and other files to build a centralized knowledge hub. Once files are added, Acrobat’s AI assistant can analyze the content and generate structured outputs based on user prompts.

One of the headline features is the ability to generate presentations directly from documents stored in a PDF Space. Users can issue a simple instruction such as “create a presentation” and Acrobat will extract key points and structure them into a slide deck. The initial output includes an outline and draft slides, organized around themes and topics found in the source material. After the draft is produced, users can customize appearance and content by selecting from professional design templates, adjusting text, swapping images, and applying branding elements with tools powered by Adobe Express.

In addition to visual summaries, Adobe is introducing audio podcast generation from document content. This tool creates narrated overviews of reports, notes, transcripts, or clusters of documents compiled in a PDF Space. Rather than a basic text-to-speech reader, the feature produces spoken summaries in a podcast-style format, making the content more accessible for listening on the go. Users can choose between different formats such as highlights or deep dives, and listen to the output within Acrobat or export it for use on other devices.

The upgraded AI assistant also improves document editing by allowing natural language prompts to perform common tasks. Users can type plain-language instructions to edit PDFs, such as removing pages, replacing text, adding comments, inserting images, and applying e-signatures. This conversational editing reduces the need for navigating complex menus and accelerates routine tasks.

Collaboration features within PDF Spaces have been expanded as well. Users can now invite others to contribute files, leave comments, and review summaries together. AI-generated summaries include citations linked to the exact source document locations, supporting clarity and shared understanding among collaborators.

Adobe’s latest AI enhancements aim to address productivity challenges in professional, academic, and creative workflows by enabling new ways to extract value from document content. These capabilities place Acrobat in direct competition with other AI-driven tools that generate presentations, summaries, and audio content, while unifying those functions within a single document-centric environment.
